The Republic of the Union of Myanmar has encouraged uplifting the health status of the entire nation as one of the social objectives. Ministry of Health has put priority on Maternal and Child health care services since 1948.Reproductive Health, Maternal and Child Health, and Newborn care services are provided both in urban and rural settings forming an essential component of National Health Plan. The delivery of an essential package of reproductive health services aims towards provision of a continuum of care through linkages across all levels of service delivery with a right- based approach targeting poor and vulnerable population including those in remote and hard to reach communities.
